K.C., who lives in the province of Nevşehir, has been arrested on charge of 'insulting the president' on his/her social media account.
K.C. was taken into custody by the Nevşehir Security Directorate forces as part of an investigation launched "after receiving a complaint."
K.C. was arrested by the Nevşehir Penal Judgeship of Peace yesterday (July 5) and referred to the Nevşehir Type E Closed Prison.
408 accounts investigated in one week
The Ministry of Interior announced that as part of the operations conducted between June 18 and June 25, 346 social media accounts were investigated and a legal action was taken against 256 people.
The Ministry also announced that between the dates of June 25 and July 2, 408 social media accounts were investigated and a legal action was taken against 281 people.
