CHP Chair Kılıçdaroğlu on Detained Attorney: Eclipse of Reason

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairperson Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has criticized his attorney Celal Çelik being taken into custody in an investigation into the "Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ)".

"They are supporting FETÖ under cover of fight against FETÖ" Kılıçdaroğlu said and added:

"What happened today is a disgrace for democracy. The decision to detain Çelik is an eclipse of reason".

Tezcan: Reminds me of Ergenekon-Balyoz processes

CHP Spokesperson Bület Tezcan also making a statement on Çelik's detention said:

"Celal Çelik is the last person to have his house raided on the accusation of FETÖ".

Stating that Çelik had stood against FETÖ his whole life, Tezcan noted that what happened reminded of Ergenekon and Balyoz investigations in which the deceased doctor, academic, activist Türkan Saylan had been taken into custody. (EKN/DG)
