United Metal Workers Union (Birleşik Metal-İş) went to strike starting today at Schneider Energy and Grid Solutions Energy, two companies in Kocaeli, Türkiye where the collective negotiations came to a deadlock.
Only hours left to the strike action which was announced to start at 10:00 am. Grid Solutions employer returned to collective bargaining after a call by the Metal Employer's Union, MESS.
Schneider Energy workers started the strike action today. The strike action covers approximately a thousand workers in two factories.

The metal workers are demanding a wage increase of 110-130 percent for the first six months amid their lowering purchasing power due to the high inflation.
Collective agreement signed at other companies
Birleşik Metal-İş had taken the decision to go to strike starting on January 23 in 11 factories of 5 companies in which a total of approximately two thousand workers are employed.
Collective labor agreements were signed in Schneider Electric, Arıtaş Cryogenics, and Hitachi Energy when only hours were left to the strike action.
In Hitachi Energy, the workers secured a pay rise of 91 percent for the first six months and 18 percent for the second six months, and a 100 percent rise in social allowances. (HA/PE)
