A fiber manufacturer based in Yalova, northwestern Türkiye, is to become the first corporate firm to introduce four-day workweeks in the country.
Between January 1 and March 31, about 200 of the company's 1,450 workers will work four days a week, Aksa Akrilik announced yesterday (December 27).
The employees' wages, side benefits and daily working hours will remain the same, the company said.
The company will also continue the hybrid model where employees work from home two days a week.
After the end of the three-month period, working performance will be measured, it said.
Companies from around the world have switched to hybrid models and four-day workweeks in recent years.
In the UK, nearly half of the 70 companies that tested four-day workweeks reported an increase in efficiency whereas 46 percent did not report any changes. Eighty-eight percent of the 3,000 people working for the companies were pleased with four-day workweeks. (HA/VK)
