The Kocaeli Governor's Office has banned all demonstrations and events until May 17 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mass events by trade unions and cooperatives will also not be allowed, according to the governor's office statement.
The sub-governor of Kocaeli's Gebze district rejected an application by the Gebze Union of Trade Unions for May Day celebrations.
The union announced that it will hold the event on April 30 instead.
The Denizli Governor's Office also announced a one-month ban on all events and demonstrations in all open areas. (HA/VK)
