Altan was working as a trainer and control instructor at Pegasus Airlines. He has announced that his labor contract has been terminated.
Altan gave a live interview on CNN Türk after a plane of Pegasus skidded off the runway and broke into three pieces. Altan said on TV:
"Let's just stop as a country. We are still talking about the 3rd airport, still opening a canal. The country is an accident waiting to happen. Those who go to rescue the people engulfed by an avalanche lose their lives. An earthquake is impending in İstanbul, in the country. Let's just prepare for that. Let's just stop for a moment. We need to have some common sense instead of producing projects over projects. Let's just stop for a little while."
Sharing a brief message on his Twitter account today (February 7), Bahadır Altan has announced that he has been dismissed from the airline:

Pegasus iş akdimi fesh etti.
Hakikatı gizlemeye gücünüz yetmez.
Ne vız gelen tehditleriniz, ne işten atmalarınız bizi susturamaz.
Bu ülkeyi uçurumunuza teslim etmeyeceğiz.
"The system of accident waiting to happen has found the culprit. Pegasus has terminated my labor contract. You don't have the power to hide the truth. Neither your threats that mean nothing to us, not your dismissals can silence us. We will not give up this country to your abyss." (RT/SD)
