Transfer from the İstanbul Atatürk Airport to the new airport, which is named İstanbul Airport, has been postponed.

According to the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), the removal to the third airport, which was opened on October 29, was planned to take place by the end of December.
But at the meeting that Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turan also attended, it has been decided that removal should be delayed.
An official statement has not been released after the meeting but the transfer of equipment is expected to take place in March.
'God willing, we will have a precise date this time'
TAV Airports Holding CEO Sani Şener has sent an email to the employees, saying that a precise date for the transfer has not been decided yet, but is is expected to take place in March.
He said that deals with renters and subcontractors at the Atatürk Airport should be extended and concluded his message by saying "God willing, we will be given a precise date this time..."

After the heavy rains at the night before (18 December), the main building site at the new airport has been flooded. Vehicles in the car park have gone down in water.
