The owner of the mine in the district of Kilimli in Zonguldak, where three workers lost their lives and two workers were wounded in an explosion that took place yesterday (November 21), has been arrested.
As reported by the Zonguldak Yeni Adım local news website, the owner of the mine İsmail Aygün was detained at his house yesterday as part of the investigation launched by the Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Aygün, who was first brought to the security directorate, was then referred to the Courthouse. The Court on Duty ruled that İsmail Aygün shall be arrested on charge of "causing involuntary killing of more than one person."
At around 3 a.m. yesterday, an explosion took place in the privately owned mine, which has been reportedly without a license. While workers Evren Cinemre and Adem Alibaş were wounded in the explosion, the deceased bodies of three workers, namely Uğur Göktaş, Kenan Çavuş and Hasan Gençtürk could be reached almost 10 hours after the incident.
