* 'No occupational accidents happen coincidentally'

Four accidents took place in mining sites across Turkey from September 15 to September 18, 2018. While one worker lost his life in the occupational homicide, 12 workers were injured.
The Chamber of Mining Engineers (MMO) released a statement for the press regarding the accidents today (September 21).
In the statement, the Chamber has indicated,
"All of the accidents have the characteristics of being the exact copies of the accidents that occured in the past. A lesson should be learnt from the past and the necessary precautions have to be taken."
Accidents took place in 4 different cities
The mining accidents mentioned in the statement are as follows:
On September 15, 2018; three miners were injured in an explosion that took place in a salt mine in the district of Muncur in Kırşehir.
On September 16, 2018; an explosion that occurred in a marble mine in the district of Sincik in Adıyaman injured three miners, one of them severely.
On September 17, 2018; in a marble mine in the district of Mustafa Kemal Paşa in Bursa, a worker was run over by a rock truck and lost his life.
On September 18, 2018; six workers were wounded while they were extinguishing a fire which broke out in a thermal power plant in the district of Çan in Çanakkale. (HA/SD)
