A suspect in the case of Hurmüz and Şimoni Diril, a Chaldean couple who went missing in the southeastern Şırnak province in early 2020, has been released for the second time.
Apro Diril was first remanded in custody after being detained on June 23. The court released him on September on but he was remanded in custody again on October 2, after an appeal against his release by prosecutors.
Apro Diril was released late yesterday once again. (October 31).
Hurmüz Diril (72) and his spouse Şimuni Diril (65), living in the Syriac village of Mehre (Kovankaya) in Beytüşşebap district of southeastern Şırnak province, went missing on January 11, 2020.
The deceased body of Şimuni Diril was found by her children some 800 meters away from the village on March 20, 2020, 70 days after they had gone missing. The fate and whereabouts of Hurmüz Diril are still unknown. (RT/VK)
