The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV-HRFT) has prepared an infographic about the deaths that were caused by the vehicles of security forces and public institutions in Turkey in the last years.
According to the TİHV-HRFT data, 16 people in total, including nine children and one person with disabilities, lost their lives by being run over by the vehicles of security forces and public institutions in Turkey from January 1, 2018 to September 10, 2021.
The infographic prepared by the TİHV-HRFT Documentation Center has also shown that 41 people, including 13 children, were wounded by the vehicles of security forces and public institutions.
The incidents have been listed by years as follows:
* In 2018, in 17 separate incidents that occured, 31 people, including six children, were wounded by being hit by the vehicles of security forces and public institutions. Seven people, including two children and one person with disabilities, lost their lives.
* In 2019, in six separate incidents, three people, including two children, were wounded by being hit by the vehicles of security forces and public institutions. Three people, including one child, lost their lives.
* In 2020, in two separate incidents, one person was wounded by being hit by a vehicle of security forces. Two children died.
* As of September 10, six people, including five children, were wounded in seven separate incidents where they were hit by the vehicles of security forces and public institutions in 2021. Four children lost their lives. (AS/SD)
