Hit by a police vehicle in the district of Erenler in Sakarya province yesterday (September 19), a child has lost his life.
Furkan Murat G. (14), a ninth-grade student of the Ali Dilmen Anatolian High School, was going to school with his bike.
G. was hit by a police vehicle at the intersection of the Yeni Mahalle Topça Interchange and Karasu Street. Severely injured in the crash, he received the first medical intervention from the police officers in the vehicle.
Furkan Murat G. was taken to the Sakarya Training and Research Hospital in an ambulance. He has lost his life despite all efforts.
The police officer driving the vehicle has been detained.
Third child death in two weeks
The number of children who lost their lives after being hit by state vehicles has become three with the death of Furkan Murat G.
On its way back from the "Victory Celebrations" held in Muş's Malazgirt district on August 25, 2021, the armed vehicle with allegedly the Erzurum 3rd Army Commander on board hit Eyüp Kırtay (10) in Bitlis' Ahlat district in eastern Turkey while it was underway at speed.
