Taken into custody in Turkey's eastern provinces of Kars and Iğdır on February 12, three people, including Kars Provincial Co-Chair of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Sevda Subaşı, have been arrested.
Taken into custody in Kars city center, Digor district and Iğdır province as part of an investigation carried out by the Kars Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, HDP Kars Co-Chair Sevda Subaşı, HDP Kars Provincial Organization executive Zeki Şur, two executives from the HDP Digor District Organization and one person from the HDP Iğdır Provincial Organization were referred to the courthouse after the related proceedings at the security directorate and hospital had been completed.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), the detained were then referred to the penal judgeship of peace. While the judgeship has ruled for the arrest of three HDP executives including Sevda Subaşı, two people have been released on probation. (TP/SD)
