KRT TV presenter Osman Güdü attacked

Osman Güdü from the KRT TV channel was attacked when he left his office in Kartal district on the Anatolian side of İstanbul. Güdü was hospitalized after the incident, nine stitches were put in his head.

Osman Güdü, who prepares and hosts the "Kent ve Yaşam" (City and Life) program at KRT TV, was attacked when he left his office in İstanbul's Kartal district yesterday evening (February 4). Güdü has been hospitalized after the incident and his head has been stitched up with nine stitches.

As reported by the KRT TV, the attack happened at around 7.50 p.m. when Güdü left his office in Kartal and was about to get on his vehicle.

Güdü was reportedly hit in the head with a hard object several times. The assaulter also hurled swearwords at Güdü.

While the assaulter left the scene of the incident, Osman Güdü was taken to the Okan University Hospital, where his head was stitched up with nine stitches. Güdü spent the night at the hospital.

A few days ago, Osman Güdü said on his program at KRT TV that "religious sects and communities were running wild in Bayburt province." After this statement, the executives and members of the Federation of People from Bayburt of Turkey gathered in front of the KRT TV's office in İstanbul, making a press statement about Güdü and protesting his remarks.

About Osman Güdü

Architect. He was the Kartal representative of the Architects' Chamber İstanbul Branch. He was also a member of the municipal council of Kartal Municipality and İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality. He received his specialty training at the Boğaziçi University's Earthquake Research Institute. He graduated from the Department of Architecture of İstanbul Yıldız University in 1979.
