In a written statement released by the Ministry of National Defense Office of Press and Public Relations yesterday evening (March 25), it has been announced that two soldiers have lost their lives in an attack launched by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Haftanin within the borders of Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
While two other soldiers have also been wounded in the attack, the family of deceased Infantry Specialist Corporal Onur Karakaya living in Manisa province have been informed about his passing.
'Operation Claw-3'
Since August 24, 2019, a military operation called "Operation Claw-3" has been launched by the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) along Haftanin-Sinat line on Turkey's border with the KRG in northern Iraq.
As part of the operation, three soldiers lost their lives on August 25, 2019, one soldier lost his life on December 2, 2019, two soldiers lost their lives on January 2, 2020 and one soldier and one village guard lost their lives on January 13, 2020. (EKN/SD)
