Three soldiers lost their lives yesterday (January 16) as part of Operation Peace Spring launched into northern Syria. In a statement released by the Ministry of National Defense, it has been indicated that the soldiers lost their lives in a vehicle bomb attack while conducting a road control.
The following soldiers lost their lives in the attack: Infantry Major Şevket Tombul (from Eskişehir), Lieutenant Sinan Bilir (from Tokat) and Specialist Corporal Mustafa Alpaklı (from Urfa).
Since the onset of Operation "Peace Spring" on October 9, 2019, 20 soldiers have lost their lives in the operation, as far as we can estimate based on the news reported in the press.
