The Governorship of Hakkari has banned all protest demonstrations, marches and the like in the province for a period of 15 days.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), the following events and demonstrations will be banned in public places in Turkey's southeastern province of Hakkari as of today (December 30) till January 13: Rallies, open space meetings, protest marches, sit-in protests, protest demonstrations, hunger strikes, setting up tents, statements for the press, all types of stands, concerts, festivals, lighting torches and distribution of leaflets.
Two days ago (December 27), five areas in Hakkari's districts of Çukurca, Şemdinli, Yüksekova and Derecik were also declared "special security zones" for 15 days. The Governorship has banned unauthorized access to these areas. (RT/SD)
