An explosive previously planted on the ground exploded while a vehicle carrying forest workers were passing in Ağaçkorur village in Kulp in Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakır yesterday evening (September 12).
It was initially announced that four people lost their lives and 13 people, seven of whom were in serious condition, were wounded in the explosion. The death toll has then risen to seven.
Death toll has risen
The ones injured in the incidents were taken to the State Hospital in Kulp with ambulances referred to the scene of incident. In a statement released by the Governorship of Diyarbakır, it has been indicated,
"According to initial reports, our 4 villagers have fallen victims and 13 villager citizens have been seriously wounded in an attack launched by the separatist terrorist organization with an improvised explosive while the vehicle carrying our villager citizens who were on their way to collect wood in the rural part of Kulp district at around 6 p.m."
Making a statement about the explosion later in the night, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu has announced that the death toll has risen to seven. (EMK/SD)
