Baran Barış Korkmaz was sentenced to 59 years in prison over a statement by an anonymous witness who was could not describe him.
Korkmaz told about how he ended up in jail in a letter he sent to bianet last week. In a second letter, he says, "I want my right to an education that is seized."
"First of all, sincere and hopeful greetings to those who strive for justice and peace. Stating my feelings and thoughts, beginning to tell a story behind these walls and iron bars is hard for me.
"Although I have been often reading and writing in prison, telling the emotions and thoughts this place creates is the subject where I am most inexperienced.
"My file, which began with FETÖ* members' conspiracy and was carried on by those who want to prove themselves, is one of many similar files. Like all the similar files, it lacks reasoning, conscience, and justice.
"They made a young person lead actor in their scenario just because his worldview is different from theirs. The scenario they made with anonymous witness statements, criminal reports is far superior to the best scenarios.
"Will those who create this suffering return my right to education that is seized when what happened today will be called a conspiracy?
"Despite everything, what we need today is to utter the demand for justice for everyone." (EMK/VK)
