A village guard has lost his life in an attack carried out by members of Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) in the predominantly Kurdish district of Şemdinli in Turkey's eastern province of Hakkari. One soldier and two other village guards were injured in the attack.
Hakkari Governorship issued a statement concerning the attack and said that an improvised explosive device planted by members of PKK was detonated near Güzelkonak village of Şemdinli during a security control by security forces.
The treatment of the injured soldier and the two village guards continue in Şemdinli State Hospital. (NV/DG).
