An attack has been carried out on workers at a power transmission line in the rural area of Çobanpınar village in the predominantly Kurdish district of Yüksekova in Hakkari province in eastern Turkey yesterday (September 6).
Two workers have lost their lives in the attack and three others have been injured. One worker has severe injuries.
Hakkari Governorship has issued a written statement regarding the attack and reported that the attack was carried out by members of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) against a vehicle of workers at Dolavere Hill Base Zone subordinated to the Çobanpınar Infantry Border Police Station.
The injured workers have been brought to Yüksekova State Hospital on helicopter. A wide range air supported operation has been launched in the region. (EKN/DG)
