People’s Republican Party (CHP) İstanbul MP Onursal Adıgüzel has submitted a parliamentary inquiry concerning casualties caused by the armored military and police vehicles.
Adıgüzel included the deaths that were caused by the armored vehicles and covered by the media in 2016 and 2017.
Adıgüzel drew attention to Bünyamin Bayram (6) being killed in Şırnak’s district of Cizre on June 7, 2016, Taha Kılıç (4) in İpekyolu in Van on July 4, 2016, Hakan Sarak (5) in Cizre on October 24, 2016, Berfin Dilek (7) in Mardin’s district of Dargeçit on April 24, and Hüseyin Barut (8) in Diyarbakır’s district of Bismil.
Adıgüzel also mentioned Furkan (6) and Muhammed Yıldırım (7) who stood under the columns resulting from the wall being demolished by an armored police vehicle entering through the wall on May 4.
Armored vehicles that killed the civilians
Hasan Akdoğan (65) was killed by being crushed by an armored vehicle on January 12, 2016, Hatun Elhuman (55) in Diyarbakır’s district of Yenişehir on April 27, 2016, Nail Mavuş (57) in İstanbul’s neighborhood of Tarlabaşı on May 1, 2016, Naciye Özdemir (73) in Tunceli on September 6, 2016, Kerem Aslan (34) in Batman’s district of Kozluk on March 4, 2017. On February 19, 2016, Dilşah Ak was shot to death by an armored vehicle due to a mechanical fault in its firing mechanism. (YY/TK)
