Members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have allegedly tried to enter the Gerki Tepe Base Area subordinated to Çukurca 2nd Brigade Command making use of the foggy weather in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province.
Some PKK members launched an attack with bazookas and long barreled weapons upon being recognized by some soldiers on watch.
In the clash which occurred after the soldiers in the base started shooting back, one soldier has lost his life, three others have been injured. (EKN/DG)
