Fırat News Agency reported yesterday (November 6) that the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK) has claimed responsibility for Diyarbakır attack.
The TAK in its statement said the attack was carried out by the person named “Kemal Hakkari”, and expressed that they feel “sad” about the death of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Çüngüç District Co-Chair Recai Altay, according to the report.
11 people including two police officers had lost their lives in the bomb attack launched near outbuilding of Anti-Terror and Riot Squad branch directorates in Diyarbakır’s Bağlar district on November 4.
Diyarbakır Governor had announced on November 4 that the attack was launched by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
On the other hand, Reuters citing Amaq News Agency reported that Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claimed the attack.
Upon this, Diyarbakır Governorship issued a second statement denying Reuters’ report and reiterated that it was PKK who launched the attack. (NV/TK)
