Since January 26, 2021, the Health Ministry of Turkey has been sharing the number of COVID-19 vaccines administered across the country on a provisional basis with a regularly updated map.
According to the data shared by the Ministry, as of 23.41 p.m. on June 3, 291,248 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, either that of Sinovac or Pfizer-BioNTech, were administered in Turkey in 24 hours.
In Turkey, a country of 83 million people, some 29.8 million vaccine doses have been administered since January with 12.8 million people receiving two doses, according to the ministry figures.
The country had mostly relied on China's Sinovac until late May. The daily number of vaccinations has reduced over the past one-and-a-half months due to a delay in the delivery of the Sinovac vaccine, for which Minister of Health Koca blamed the government of China.
Turkey on May 20 reached an agreement with BioNTech to procure 120 million doses. (HÖ/VK)
