The Ministry of Health has announced the number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases per 100 thousand people by provinces on May 15-21.
According to the updated weekly map, the highest number of cases was seen in the provinces of Gümüşhane, Bolu, Kütahya, Kocaeli and Zonguldak last week. While the number of cases per 100 thousand people was 163.72 in Gümüşhane, it was 139.14 in Bolu, 134.91 in Kütahya, 130.73 in Kocaeli and 129.90 in Zonguldak province.
The highest decrease in the number of weekly cases was recorded in the provinces of Erzincan, İstanbul, Karabük, Ağrı and Karaman.
In the week of May 15-21, the lowest number of COVID-19 cases per 100 thousand people was seen in the provinces of Osmaniye (15.68), Hatay (16.69), Adana (18.90), Aydın (31.10) and Mersin (33.55).
As for the most populated cities of Turkey, their weekly numbers of COVID-19 cases per 100 thousand people were as follows:
İstanbul – 123.88 (last week: 184.78)
Ankara – 123.02 (last week: 152.63 )
İzmir – 72.75 (last week: 93.86)
Bursa – 80.28 (last week: 110.35)
Antalya – 47.01 (last week: 61.65)
Koca: Downward trend continues
