Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has announced the number of COVID-19 cases per 100 thousand people by provinces from May 8-14, 2021.
According to the updated map, the highest number of cases was observed in Erzurum, İstanbul, Ağrı, Rize and Bilecik.
The figures have shown that the number of cases per 100 thousand people was 192.28 in Erzurum (last week: 303.58), it was 184.78 in İstanbul (last week: 359.99), 182.84 in Ağrı (last week: 264.27), 167.27 in Rize (last week: 270.94) and 156.37 in Bilecik (last week: 259.24).
The lowest number of COVID-19 cases per 100 thousand people was seen in Şırnak with 26.96 (last week: 66.89). It was followed by Adana with 28.69 (last week: 61.41), by Hatay with 32.54 (last week: 72.20), by Osmaniye with 35.91 (last week: 79.12), by Maraş with 43.06 (last week: 91.68).
As for the most populated cities of Turkey, their weekly numbers of COVID-19 cases per 100 thousand people were as follows:
İstanbul – 184.78 (last week: 359.99)
Ankara – 152.63 (last week: 247.68 )
İzmir – 93.86 (last week: 161.92)
Bursa – 110.35 (last week: 207.97)
Antalya – 61.65 (last week: 131.38)
5 provinces which see the biggest drop
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has also announced that Kastamonu, Tekirdağ, İstanbul, Bayburt and Zonguldak provinces have witnessed the biggest drop in their number of cases over the past week.
