The Health Ministry has suspended the leaves, resignations and retirement applications of all healthcare workers across the country.
The decision comes amid a new peak of the coronavirus pandemic as the number of daily cases exceeds 60,000, one of the highest in the world.
Issuing a circular to all 81 provinces, the ministry said it suspended the leaves "to carry out the public health service without interruption."
Pregnant healthcare workers will be allowed to take a leave after the 24th week of pregnancy while women health workers with a child younger than 10 will not be granted administrative leaves, said the ministry.
