The Ministry of Health paid 8.7 billion lira to the "city hospitals" in the last year, according to the financial figures it published today (January 27).
It paid 5.51 billion lira for rent and 3.22 billion lira for "service fee" as the payments to the public-private partnership hospitals made up 12 percent of the ministry's total budget expenditures of 65.19 billion lira in 2020, the figures show (1 US dollar = 7.36 Turkish lira).
The ministry also spent 53 million lira for four hospitals in Somalia, Sudan, Niger and Bangladesh.
In 2019, the cost of the city hospitals to the ministry was 7.73 billion lira.
In the last year, the ministry spent 27.26 billion lira for personnel expenses, 20 billion lira for the procurement of goods and services and 1.81 billion lira for vaccination.
Also, the ministry spent 497 million lira for the "Covid-19 emergency project" and donated 4.1 million lira to the Red Crescent and 148 million lira to the Green Crescent.
