Rojin Altay, an employee of the pro-Kurdish Yeni Yaşam newspaper, has been released from detention after giving a statement to the prosecutor's office.
Detained on January 28 at İstanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport when she was about to fly to Diyarbakır, Altay had been held at the İstanbul Security Directorate before being taken to the İstanbul Courthouse this morning (February 1).
Charged with "being a member of an illegal organization," Altay was asked about the demonstrations and meetings she had covered, Mezopotamya agency (MA) reported.
Journalism groups met Altay upon her release. (HA/VK)
