Taken into custody in a house raid in Cizre in Turkey's Kurdish-majority southeastern province of Şırnak on February 14, 2022, Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporter Zeynep Durgut has been released.
Held in the Cizre Counterterrorism Department, Durgut was referred to the Şırnak Courthouse today (February 17). Taken to the prosecutor's office and giving her statement, Durgut has been released on probation.
Detained on Monday, the statement of Durgut at the security directorate was taken two days after her detention yesterday.
Held in the Cizre Counterterrorism Department, Durgut's journalism activities were questioned based on "anonymous witness" statements. During the interrogation, the journalist was also asked questions about the news that she had shared on her social media accounts.
