10 of 15 people, who were detained on charges of "propagandizing for a terrorist organization" and "preparing for a demonstration" due to their social media posts, have been arrested in İzmir.
İzmir Provincial Directorate of Security, Anti-Terror Branch squads detained 12 people yesterday (April 10) for allegedly "propagandizing for a terrorist organization" and "preparing for a demonstration" on April 4, which is the birthday of Kurdistan Workers' Party's (PKK) imprisoned leader Abdullah Öcalan. Three more people were also taken into custody later on with the same allegations.
Being referred from İzmir Provincial Security Directorate to the courthouse yesterday evening, 10 people were arrested on charge of "being members of a terrorist organization" and five people were released on probation.

The Ministry of Interior previously announced that 337 social media accounts had been investigated and legal action had been taken against 154 people over last week.
