While the efforts to extinguish the fire that broke out in Aydıncık district of Mersin yesterday (July 15) are still continuing, another fire has broken out in the district of Hassa in Turkey's southern Hatay province.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli has made a statement about the fires and said that the efforts to put out them both are still ongoing.
A fire broke out in the calabrian pine forest in Pembecik Neighborhood in Mersin's Aydıncık district. While the cause of the fire has not yet been identified, a fire extinguishing helicopter and sprinklers as well as the fire brigade teams of the Metropolitan Municipality are trying to put out the fire.
A fire also broke out in the Habib-i Neccar Mountain and forestland in Hassa in Hatay. The causes of these fires are also not yet known.
Fire brigade teams and Forestry Department teams are making efforts to put out both fires in Turkey's southern provinces.
Accident on the way to the fire in Mersin
Two officials who set off from the Forestry Deparment of Denizli province to come to Mersin had a road accident on the way. Mildy injured, they have been referred to hospitals. (TP/SD)
