Actors said they aimed to draw attention to environmental pollution at the Munzur Valley National Park and Pülümür Valley. For a day, they walked around the streets in the city center.
Then they made a statement on Seyit Rıza Square, saying they will continue activities to create awareness about the environment.
"Mercilessly polluting Pülümür, as well as the Munzur Valley National Park is not an attitude and behavior that suits humans," actor Yılmaz Can Şare said. "If people go to picnic sites and leave their bottles and rubbish to nature after eating and drinking, then there is a lack of conscience."
"Our hearts sink when we see pollution not just here, but also in the west, in Thrace, in the Aegean, wherever it may be," he added.
Declared a national park in 1971, the Munzur Valley National Park lies on a 42-thousand-hectare area in the southeastern province of Dersim. (TP)
