The Ministry of National Education has announced the most preferred elective courses at secondary schools in the 2021-2022 educational year. As reported by Anadolu Agency (AA), the most preferred elective was Application of Mathematics with 2,891,442 students.
Offering a series of languages including Adyghe, Abkhazian, Kurmanji, Kırmancki, Laz language, Georgian, Bosnian and Albanian at secondary schools, the Living Languages and Dialects elective couse was chosen by 23,028 students in 2021 and by 24,368 students this year.

50 thousand students chose climate change
While 2,006,698 students chose Foreign Language elective course, 1,963,581 students preferred Applications of Science, 1,208,822 students elected Sports and Physical Activities, 861,838 students chose Writing Skills, 807,327 students picked Quran, 675,083 students elected Reading Skills, 645,257 students elected "The Life of Our Prophet" class, 414,340 students chose the Mind Games, 355,653 preferred Basic Religious Information and 55,674 students picked the Environment and Climate Change course, which will be offered next educational year.
Math preferred the most
After social activity and math, the 10 most preferred courses of high school students were as follows: Geography by 910,507 students; Turkish Language and Literature by 655,991 students, Biology by 627,267 students, Physics by 595,863 students, Chemistry by 594,241 students, Basic Religious Information by 452,165 students, The Life of Our Prophet course by 439,801 students and Basic Mathematics by 433,348 students.
