Turkey's official inflation rate was 50.51 percent in February, dropping by nearly five points in a month, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) figures released today (April 3).
The monthly inflation rate was 2.29 percent, with the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rising by 3.84 percent in a month.
The 12-month rolling median inflation rate was 70.20 percent, showed the figures.
According to an alternative calculation, however, the inflation rate was twice as high as what TurkStat announced.
The Inflation Research Group (ENAG), a monitor founded by a group of economists, said the annual inflation rate was 112.51 percent, according to its own calculations. The monthly inflation rate was 5.08 percent. (HA/VK)
