Retail prices in the metropolis of İstanbul rose by 107.42 percent in September compared to the same month last year, according to the İstanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO).
The prices increased by 6.6 percent in a month and 74.89 percent compared to the start of the year, showed the figures released on October 1.
On a monthly basis, expenditures for culture, education and and entertainment increased by 9.66 percent, household goods by 9.54 percent, clothing by 8.63 percent, housing by 6.43 percent, and food by 3.64 percent.
Transportation and communication expenditures decreased by 0.78 percent in a month.
Wholesale prices for construction materials increased by 5.39 percent, foodstuffs increased by 2.32 percent. (RT/VK)
