The Petroleum Pipeline Company (BOTAŞ) has published the price tariffs for June.
Accordingly, natural gas prices increased by 30 percent for households, 16 percent for power generation facilities and 10 percent for the industry.
The price of 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas is now 3,264 lira for households and 10,416 lira for industrial subscribers. For electricity generation facilities, it rose to 12,500 lira (1 US dollar = 16.45 Turkish lira).
Over the past year, gas prices have increased 630 percent for power plants, 601 percent for the industrial sector and 146 percent for households.
According to 2020 data, 16.8 million household gas subscribers in the country use 927 cubic meters of gas on average per year. With the price increase, the average natural gas expenditure for a household will be 3,025 lira a year.
Turkey's annual natural gas consumption was 59.6 billion cubic meters in 2021, according to official data.
Electricity
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's (EPDK) new price tariffs were also released in the Official Gazette today (June 1). Electricity prices increased by 15 percent for households and 25 percent for businesses.
The per kWh price of electricity has become 208.9154 kurus for first degree businesses and 268.2821 kurus for high degree businesses.
In the electricity tariff of low voltage industry subscribers, the kilowatt hour price was 287.5739 kurus. The kilowatt-hour price in the green tariff was determined as 268.2821 kurus. (HA/VK)
