Turkey's monthly inflation rate was 7.25 and the annual inflation rate was 69.97 percent in April, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The rent increase rate, which is determined based on the 12-month average of the consumer price index, has become 34.46 percent.

Transportation prices rose by 105 percent
Transportation (105.86 percent), food and non-alcoholic beverages (89.10 percent) and furnishings and household equipment (77.64 percent) were the groups with the highest annual increase in prices.
The lowest annual increase was in communication (18.71 percent), clothing and footwear (26.23 percent), education (27.73 percent) and healthcare (35.95 percent).
Highest monthly increase was in food
The monthly increase in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages was 13.38 percent, higher than any other group in the index. It was followed by housing (7.43 percent), and clothing and footwear (6.96 percent).
The lowest monthly increase was in miscellaneous goods and services (0.93 percent), health (1.31 percent) and communication (2.87 percent).
