President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the public today (April 12) at Kayaş Train Station on the occasion of the Inauguration Ceremony of Başkentray, a local train line to serve in Turkey's capital city of Ankara.
The inauguration ceremony of Başkentray, which will provide local railway services between the districts of Sincan and Kayaş in Ankara, was also attended by the Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and the Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communications Ahmet Arslan.
"We will stay in Syria until it is safe for everyone"
Some highlights from the speech of President Erdoğan were as follows:
"We are utterly disturbed by the fact that some countries relying on their military power have turned Syria into some kind of an arm wrestling arena. Today, I have a meeting with Dear [President of Russia] Putin. I will talk to him once again about how we can stop this chemical massacre.
"We will continue our existence and activities in Syria until the country becomes safe for everyone. Frankly speaking, Turkey has pursued the only sincere and result-producing fight against DEAŞ (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) in Syria."
"You will pay for it if you are trying to create economic terror"
In his speech in Ankara, Erdoğan also addressed the recent problems in the foreign exchange rates. Erdoğan said that the economic growth of Turkey is on a good track and added that since their achievements make "some people" jealous, they are advancing upon them through economy.
Stating that the economy has grown by 7 percent and the export figures have reached "an all-time high," Erdoğan also said, "They cannot discipline us through foreign exchange rates or the like. They should first take care of themselves. We keep going on our paths in a determined manner. If you are trying to create economic terror in our country, you are in the wrong. When the time comes, you will pay for it". (HK/SD)
