A campaign was started to set up a "Play Tent" for the children affected by the February 6 earthquakes by Child Crisis Network in Diyarbakır.
They need desks, chairs, tatami, stationery, and toys, says Gulan Önkol from the crisis desk of the initiative in Diyarbakır. One team will be working in Diyarbakır and another in Adıyaman.
The Child Crisis initiative is working in the earthquake-hit area together with 250 volunteers. They are focusing on children and women.
Önkol says, "The children do not want to be away from their mothers. Therefore we are delivering our services focusing both on women and children."
Tents and toys needed
The children will have to live in tents for a long period of time. Therefore they decided to set up Play Tents.
The Child Crisis Network calls people to donate tents and toys for the campaign.
