Citing Syrian state channel, Reuters has reported that Syrian army will arrive in Afrin in a few hours.
The Syrian army will reportedly be in Afrin as of 6 p.m. today (February 19). The army will allegedly be deployed in 52 critical position through the week, and in four critical positions today and tomorrow.
Reuters reported yesterday that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and People’s Protection Units (YPG) have come to an agreement on combining their forces to repel Turkey’s offensive into Afrin.
Al Masdar: NDF to enter from two cities
According to Beirut-based Al Masdar News, the Syrian National Defense Forces (NDF) marched towards Afrin from Syrian-held Al Zahra and Nubi cities in Aleppo.
The “Operation Olive Branch” launched by Turkey against the YPG on January 19, 2018 is on its 31st day today. (PT/TK)
