The Ministry of Family and Social Services announced that there have been 1915 unattended children rescued that they have registered after the February 6 earthquakes.
The Ministry informed that 42 of these children, now staying in orphanages, could not yet be identified.
The statement made by the Ministry includes that 1718 children affected by the earthquake were handed over to their families after the identification of those applying was confirmed, that 85 children were taken to orphanages after their treatment in hospitals, and that the treatment of 110 children is still continuing.
The Ministry also informed that two children registered after the earthquakes died during their treatment at the hospital.
The statement by the Ministry also announced that they have determined that 411 children had died in the earthquakes, for whom notices were made to the Disaster Management Child Module of the Ministry. (AÖ/PE)
