The death toll from yesterday's (March 15) floods in the southeastern cities of Urfa and Adıyaman has risen to 15, with the bodies of two more people recovered.
One person's body in the Abide bridge crossing in Urfa, where two dead bodies were reached yesterday in the underpass of the newly built crossing. Later in the day, another body was recovered.
Thirteen people died in Urfa and two others died in Adıyaman. Efforts to find two people in each city are underway.
The floods that occurred after torrential rains started on late March 14 also affected tent cities set up in Adıyaman after the quakes.
On February 6, two earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6 struck the southern city of Maraş.
The quakes affected 11 cities in Türkiye's south and southeast, as well as Syria's northern parts, where more than 5,000 people were killed.
Turkey's official death toll from the quakes stands at over 48,000 and is expected to increase further, as more than 227,000 buildings were destroyed or severely damaged. (RT/VK)
