Fire in İskenderun Port brought under control

The Directorate of Maritime Affairs announced at noon today that the fire in Limak Port in İskenderun was brought under control.

It had not been possible to put out the fire that started in the containers toppled in the disastrous earthquakes of Monday.
No handling services can be given at the Limak Port at the moment but the ships can receive these services in the other ports in the region.

Rise in sea level

While the fire at the port was finally brought under control in İskenderun, the sea level raised in the district and flooded some avenues and streets.

The houses and workplaces on Meta Aslan avenue and the buildings ashore were evacuated. (AS/PE)
