The Governorship of Mardin has announced that mortar shells and rockets hit the rural villages of Taşlıca and Otluk in the district of Kızıltepe. While two civilians have lost their lives in the incident, 12 others have been wounded.
As reported by state-run Anadolu Agency, the mortar shells and rockets were fired from the Syrian side of the border controlled by the YPG. The wounded have been hospitalized in Kızıltepe and Mardin Public Hospitals.
Mezopotamya Agency (MA) has also reported that entries to the Taşlıca (Xerabkort) Neighborhood hit by rockets and mortar shells has been banned after the attack. Reporters attempting to enter the neighborhood were also prevented. Speaking to the MA, residents of the neighborhood said that a mortar shell hit the neighborhood though there occurred no conflicts.
