Five children have lost their lives and five others have been injured in a school shuttle accident in İscehisar district of Afyon, central Turkey.
The shuttle minibus carrying primary school children rolled over and child who survived the accident with minor bruises walked about a kilometer to a village to report the incident, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
The 53-year-old driver, who was reported to be in good condition after the accident, has been detained by the gendarmerie.
Afyonkarahisar Governor Gökmen Çiçek and Mayor Mehmet Zeybek went to the scene of the incident for examinations.
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin, who was visiting Afyon, visited the hospitalized children.
Names of the children who lost their lives are İsmail (11), Nisa (14) ve Teslime Eser (13), Melisa Demirel (14) and Damla Duran (11). (AÖ/VK)
