A suspected high-level operative of ISIS has been detained during a joint operation by police and intelligence officers in Ankara, the capital, the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
During the operation, a seven-year-old Ezidi girl who was kidnapped from Iraq was also found.
After the National Intelligence Agency (MİT) obtained information that a high-level ISIS operative, S.O., in Mosul came to Ankara, authorities started the surveillance of the suspect, according to the AA report.
It was also learned that the suspect was with a child and the operation was planned in order not to harm her, said AA.
S.O. and N.H.R., an accomplice of him, were nabbed by the police and the girl was sent to the Provincial Directorate of the Family, Labor and Social Services.
