B.J., a football player for the Silvan Belediyespor in Diyarbakır, has been arrested and sent to Diyarbakır Prison on the allegation of sexually assaulting a 12 year-old boy.
The incident came to the light after the boy told his mother about the sexual assault he was subjected to. B.J. was taken into custody after the boy's family filed a criminal complaint. The football player rejected the allegations in his deposition at the Prosecutor's Office.
The child deposed in company with a pedagogue
The child, accompanied by a pedagogue, deposed in the same Prosecutor's Office, telling about the sexual assault in detail.
Stating that the things the child said are consistent with each other, the pedagogue declared that the boy said the truth.
After his deposition at the Public Prosecutor's Office, B.J. was referred to the court with the demand of arrest. B.J. rejected the accusations in his deposition before the judge as well. The football player said that he came to Silvan to play football and previously lived in İzmir.
If arrested, the defendant will experience "great pecuniary trouble"
B.J.'s attorney Hüseyin Tayınmak objected to the arrest on the ground that his client will experience "great pecuniary trouble".
Rejecting the appeal of the attorney, Silvan Penal Judgeship of Peace ruled that B.J. shall be arrested for "sexually abusing a child."
B.J. was sent to Diyarbakır Type D Prison.
