The Platform for an End to Women Murders took the street on 19 August to protest the killing of Kezban İncebacak who was beaten to death by her husband two days earlier. "How many women have to be killed before the government will take precautions?" the women asked.

Six cities have been added to the "Women Friendly Cities" project that is applied on the level of local administrations in order to provide equal opportunities for women.
